I am thrilled with the work M-Squared Construction did for me. It was a pretty big project, including installing a totally new kitchen, two bathrooms, laundry room and skylights.
The project began with the possibilities. Matt and Marty looked at what I had and they helped me dream what it could be. They identified a load-bearing column that we needed to work with. They identified hall closets that could be opened from the other side in the laundry room. And they helped me see what would happen when we opened the kitchen/living space. They taped off multiple options of an island layout so I could "walk through" the new space. They suggested skylights at the dark end of the room, and their suggestion really makes the new space work.
I bought the cabinets from a kitchen design store, and Matt and Marty worked closely and smoothly with the kitchen designer. They made sure we had all the bits of spacers and stock finished wood to do the custom details the designer had drawn. And then they met the real challenge of translating those pencil lines on paper into working shelves with built-in lights and concealed wiring.
In addition to the kitchen, M-Squared gutted and replaced two bathrooms, including all the plumbing and tile work. They even cheerfully took on a custom tile job I dreamed up for my small master bathroom. I wanted to scatter about 200 colorful glass tiles around a tiny bath in a design that I wanted to look random. Of course, "random" in tile requires lots of planning and the idea was in my head not on paper, so we laid out ALL of the tile for the bath on the living room floor. We placed and adjusted each colored tile -- not too many reds in that corner, avoid a row of blue over there, just one green down at the bottom please. It was a big job. When I was satisfied, they meticulously picked up the design, one row at a time, and put it onto the bath wall. And I love it.
Attention to detail is really what M-Squared is all about. From start to finish they thought out each part of the job and did it right. If they saw a problem, they always took the time to sort it out: replace some sub-flooring that was useable but a little warped, tack up both the 2-inch wide and the 2.5-inch wide molding to see which looks better above the refrigerator, label the wires coming into the power box and the pipes in the crawl space so the next tradesman knows what's what. It is all the scores of little things that make me so delighted I had M-Squared do my remodel.

Over the past several years, we had M-Squared Construction do numerous projects for us and have been completely satisfied with each one. Our jobs have included small ones like installing a handrail for our basement stairs or adding electrical circuits and lighting to our garage or replacing our stationery tub. We also had them do larger jobs, such as, remodeling Carol's sewing room, making her the envy of her entire quilting group. By far the largest project we had was for them to completely remodel our kitchen, which everyone now loves when they see it or work in it. On each job, from the smallest to the largest, we found meticulous attention to detail and excellence in craftsmanship. They take real pride in their work which is clearly evident in the finished result. We are totally satisfied with M-Squared Construction and are very comfortable recommending Marty & Matt to anyone.

Marty and Matt grew up with my eldest son, so I've known them for over 30 years. They have done concrete work for me - driveway apron and also roof venting. They are reliable, knowledgeable, honest and hard workers. I highly recommend them for any home projects or repairs.

Growing up, my dad always taught me that if I was going to do something, I should do it right the first time. When I first met Marty and Matt, I knew they ran their business according to this philosophy. I think when people are looking for a contractor, they assume that they, "cannot have it all." In other words, they accept that they will have to sacrifice price, quality or service when making their selection. With M2 this is not the case; Marty and Matt genuinely care about every customer and every project. I have never felt pressured or neglected. If you need help making decisions, as I often do, they will work with you and offer honest and sincere advice based on years of practical knowledge and expertise. They are very detail oriented, and work as if the job is at their own house. When they remodeled my bathroom and foyer, I told them not to worry about cleaning up every day, but they insisted and told me they would not have it any other way. The same was true when they built the fence around my yard; I did not even find as much as a nail in the grass. I have had numerous family, friends and neighbors survey their work and subsequently choose M2. Their work speaks for itself, but their sincere enthusiasm and professional attitude is unparalleled, and the reason why I will not use anyone other than M2.

We were privileged to have M Squared Construction Company do a couple of extensive projects in our home. They completely gutted and remodeled a bathroom, installed and painted all our interior doors and put up beadboard and a long shelf in our master bedroom.
It was a pleasure to have Matt and Marty working in our house. Obviously, there was a lot of equipment, materials and trash involved, but - other than the work area in progress - when they left for the day no one would guess they had been in the house. They start on time, lay down protective tarps throughout the house, and put everything away before leaving. Their workmanship is impeccable and you won't find more professional and friendly guys.
Along with the job we asked them to do, Marty and Matt spotted and corrected some important issues along the way, including structural problems caused by hidden water damage and correction of improper venting in our bathroom. The beadboard installation demanded some problem solving, and the solution involved building a narrow dividing wall as part of the closet opening. Any casual onlooker would never begin to guess that this addition is not original - in fact, it looks much better than it did previously!
We always recommend M Squared Construction Company to our friends and will certainly have them back for our next home improvement project.

I have had M-Squared Construction do many jobs for me from a total kitchen update to smaller jobs such as painting a hallway. They have always been trustworthy, performed quality work exceeding my expectations and are always reliable to do what they contracted for within the timeframe specified. They clean up after themselves at the end of each day in such a way that you would never know they had been here. Their knowledge and expertise in a wide spectrum of areas always amazes me. I cannot recommend M-Squared Construction highly enough!
